This morning we took Ainsley for her 3 month check-up with her Endro doctor. We meet regularly with her to make sure Ainsley's thyroid meds are controlled. We learned today not to give Ainsley's daily throyid pill on an empty stomach and with no calcium for at least 30 minutes. We are going to have to set our alarm clock to wake up a bit earlier to make sure we have that 30 minute gap. We are going to get her blood checked again in 4 weeks to see how this change in time will help her body absorb the meds better. They mentioned no meds with calcium when she was re-hospitalized in 2010, but haven't mentioned it since...so thankfully I asked today, "what are those three foods were are to avoid close to her daily meds"? Now we know: soy, calcium and iron! |
