Mayo-June 11

Ryan and I decided that we are going forward with taking Ainsley to the Pediatric Diagnostic doctor at Mayo in Rochester, MN the week of June 10th.
We made our final decision on Friday, May 25 in the afternoon once we received her 4th CK test result that showed her levels were still elevated and the highest they have been over the past four months.  We share our decision with our family and friends and have been busy getting records sent to the new doctors and organizing a binder with additional medical records/tests.
Our feelings were confirmed this Wednesday when we received her other blood work results from the kidney doctor that showed her iron panel was slightly high and she had ketones in her urine and her urine protein/creatinine ratio was elevated.  We don’t know what any of that means—but we take great comfort in knowing that God has been preparing the way for this appointment.
I’m thankful that we met with our primary doctor at the end of April who mentioned Mayo and that I trusted my gut and called them in the afternoon following her neuromuscular appointment in early May so we could get an appointment one month later.
We are praying for a final answer.  The Pediatric Diagnostic clinic at Mayo specializes in patients who have not found answers for health conditions at other medical centers.  We have received good care with our current doctors, but we need some additional guidance on all of these pieces/tests that have been abnormal recently.
Ainsley’s appointment at Mayo is on the 16th floor!  Yikes, I thought!  I hate elevators and heights—so I’ve been praying God would give me peace about that so I wouldn’t be worried about that in the midst of all of her appointments.  Today I realized that God is the same on the 1st floor and the 16th floor—he is consistent.  He will be the same if we get great news, or bad news.  We can rest in his unfailing love for our sweet girl.  He has consistently provided answers and loving people to walk along side of us while we are taking care of our sweet girl.
We would appreciate prayers as we travel to Mayo in the evening on the 10th.  Ainsley’s first appointment at Mayo will be at 8:45 am on Tuesday, June 11 and we will go from there.  We may be sent home in one day or will stay through the week—we won’t know until we get there.  We'll be with our sweet girl every step of the way!
