A day in nature
Ryan and I had a picnic at one of our local state parks recently. On the menu for lunch--Jimmy Johns!
We took a walk around the lake--what a beautiful view.
We stopped by the Raptor Project and saw some beautiful birds. The Raptor Project is a collaboration with the local universities to help injured birds be safe and heal. Each of them had a story of how they were injured and how they are living happy lives at the center.
This bird looked very mean to me.
This one was a bit more graceful and beautiful!
As we were walking, we noticed this satellite--Ryan wanted to find out what it was and why it was in the woods. After some searching--we found out it is one of 10 in the USA! It takes pictures of objects in space and sends the data to New Mexico for processing--who new our little Iowa town was home to this!
