Hearing Aid Trial

This morning we got up bright and early!  We left the house at 6:50 am!  Ainsley had two appointments this morning at the hospital.
We started off the day at her ENT doctor--Dr. Smith.  Ainsley is a pro at getting her vitals taken!  Today was the first time she sat by herself (and not on our lap) to get her blood pressure taken!
Her ENT said that since her loss in her left ear was so slight and that insurance only covers up to $2000 in a 4 year span (for hearing aids and supplies)-he recommended we do a hearing aid on loan for her L ear.  We thought that was a good plan, so we went to see Ainsley's audiologist-Dr. Shea to get fitted for an ear bud for her L ear.
Dr. Shea does such a great job explaining the process to Ainsley!
This pink molding goes in Ainsley's ear to take an impression so they can make an ear mold for her.
We waited a few minutes for it to harden.
All done!
Next up, Dr. Shea took measurements of Ainsley's L ear so her new aid could be calibrated.
Being a brave girl!
It will take a few weeks for her ear mold to be made--we will go back on December 20th to pick up her new ear mold and her loan hearing aid which we will try for 2-4 months.
This expression explains how I felt a few minutes after leaving the appointment.  We were in the parking garage at the hospital and someone hit my car while I was leaving my parking space.  I got out to exchange information and the woman walked away after licking her hand and then trying to buff out the scratches (not kidding)...Ryan called the police and 45 minutes later (in the cold) my cough had gotten 4 times worse.  So after consulting with the police they determined she most likely didn't have insurance so I decide not to press charges. Hoping the rest of the week gets a little better!
