Ears, tests and Papa & Vicki

Ryan left on Friday for a conference in Dallas, TX--so Ainsley and I had a date night.  We watched a movie and she ate Cheetos (I might have had a couple too--but I was a little cleaner)!
Saturday morning Ainsley came to work with me so I could get a few projects done.  This is on the rock outside of my office--one of the many things that I love about the University of Iowa!
Ainsley liked the rock too!
Ainsley and my Dwight bobble head that Ryan gave me many years ago.  She  didn't know what to think about him.
Ainsley was excited about coming to mommy's work--but she didn't feel like doing much once we got there, so she watched a movie.
Last week when we were getting her hearing test, they said that one of Ainsley's ear drums was closed due to fluid and the other ear had fluid--even though she has tubes.  They consulted with her otolaryngology doctor who said to start antibiotic drops--we ran the full course of those and finished on Friday.  Ainsley was a little warm and not herself, so after she got up from her nap I took her to Quick Care on Saturday.
We got to the doctor just 30 minutes before they closed on Saturday--just in  time :)!
Once we saw the doctor Ainsley was laughing, jumping--not looking sick at all.  I thought, why did I bring her in she must not be sick...and then they looked in her ears.  Sure enough her right ear drum was "bulging" as the doctor described it and super red.  Her tubes are intact, but must be plugged.  She has a ton of fluid that was pushing on her ear drums.  The doctor was so glad I brought her in and so was I.  We headed to Walgreens and picked up her antibiotic and some pain meds, which I gave her both right away.
Our sweet neighbors invited us over for dinner and since Ains was feeling better after her meds we went over to visit.  Ainsley loves playing with their girls--their oldest daughter loves playing dress up and so does Ainsley!
Ainsley & Chelsey!
Beautiful princesses!
We left dinner a little early because my dad and Vicki arrived last night to be with us since Ryan will be in Dallas for a few more days.  I thought this picture was so sweet--they were sitting outside this morning enjoying the fresh air and playing with bubbles.
For lunch we headed to the Amana colonies--we did a little shopping before lunch.
Ainsley was feeling much better today--she was running everywhere!
Checking out the flowers!
I am SO thankful dad and Vicki are in town because I found out early Friday morning that Ainsley's Cardiac Echo is scheduled for Monday morning.  Ainsley's pediatrician wanted it to be a sedated test, but when they called to schedule they didn't have that note in the system.  They said they wouldn't sedate her without seeing the cardiologist (which a specialist apt could take 3-4 months), so I said lets move forward and see if we can get good pictures without sedation. We are going to pack lots of treats, movies, suckers, etc for tomorrow--anything to keep Ainsley occupied!  We will all be praying that we are able to finish the test tomorrow and get good results.
On Tuesday afternoon Ainsley has her physical therapy 4 month repeat test to make sure she is not losing function.  Hoping for good news with that too.  I touched base with the genetics nurse on Friday and she said Ryan and my test should be back by mid-week--so this is a big week medically.  Hoping for good news on all fronts :)!
Ainsley smelling the flowers!
Playing in the grass!
Fun, fun!
Ainsley and dad checking out the rooster!
Ryan texted me a few pictures of his Dallas adventure--he went on a Dallas Cowboy tour this morning.
Glad he is getting in some fun before his conference begins later today!
