Patience

It is always hard to wait for news--especially when it concerns our little miss.  We found out the afternoon of her genetics apt in mid-February that one of her blood test came back elevated.  Her CK levels were elevated which is an indication of muscle breakdown.  When we talked with the doctors after we got the results they said it was cause for concern, not panic (I like clear feedback, so I appreciated that).  We shared this with our family, but we needed some time to process this news.  I realized this week that it was best to write about this since I keep this blog as Ainsley's baby book and this is an important part of her life right now.
Today I took Ainsley to her Physical Therapy appointment and they re-evaluated her gross motor skills.  The good news is she was still at the lower end of normal for gross motor (stairs, jumping, running, etc).  This was great news because she hadn't lost any function.  The Physical Therapist had been contacted by the staff of the Neuromuscular Doctor to consult about the CK level and Ainsley's progress.  Ainsley's Physical Therapist was very encouraging to say that we are doing the right thing, to have the test repeated at the end of the month and to continue with the consult with the Neuromuscular Doctor incase her muscles continue to deteriorate (we found out today this appointment isn't until July).
Ryan and I know that God is in control and He loves our sweet girl.   Although it is painful to wait for the results of the genetic testing (6-8 weeks) and 3 more weeks for the repeat CK levels it gives us time to pray, prepare our hearts and research (which I have already promised Ryan I will do in small doses until we know more)!

I know this for sure--our sweet girl may have had many set backs in her  young life, but she is a fun loving, happy, giggly, an an opinionated spit fire of a little girl!
Ainsley at her kidney ultrasound on Wednesday morning (still waiting for these results too--again we are learning patience:).

Playing basketball with daddy!  Every Monday when I teach, A and Ryan go out to eat and watch basketball!  It is fun to see their relationship develop.  Ainsley knows how to sweet talk her daddy already.  When she doesn't want to go to sleep she will call for Ryan and say "basketball daddy"...she is a smart cookie!
