27 Months!

My sweet girl--tomorrow you turn 27 months!  Here's an up-date on what you've been up to!
You are SO independent these days!  You like to do things your way.  We tried to get you to use a spoon the other day at Panera, but you insisted on using your bread as a spoon.  It got the job done--you were just wearing a lot of soup after dinner :).

You LOVE sweets!  Love. Sweets!  We try not to give you too many, but you know how to ask for and sign cookie—it is the cutest thing!  Today we had to pick you up at 2 pm for your hearing test—so your nap was cut short.  We gave you a chocolate chip cookie on the way to the test and you were happy as a clam.  I think you would trade sweets for sleep any day!
Your personality is starting to show more and more each day.  You are a fun loving, kind, sweet girl—but you are also a spit fire!  You will speak your mind and have your wishes known.
You recently have started throwing your spoon on the floor as soon as you are done eating.  Our Swiffer is getting a work out these days!
You are sleeping well these days--you normally go to bed around 8:15 pm and you wake up around 6:15 am.    You like to have a few stuffed animals to snuggle with and you love your big girl bed!
You were so excited about the potty in September, but aren't really interested in it these days!  You went to the potty tonight and we were all so excited...hopefully we can keep this excitement going.
You love to dance.  Your teacher says that you are always the first one to break into a dance when she puts music on in the classroom.  You love to dance at home too!  When I clean your room, I always put on Sugarland and turn up the volume and you dance up a storm!
You are becoming more confident with your walking, running, jumping, etc!  You still stumble and are cautious with steps, curbs, etc so we keep you in comfy, supportive shoes.  We just bought you some new shoes recently with some left over Christmas money from your G & G Cohenour and Papa Bob!  We get you fitted with new inserts next month because your feet keep growing--you are in a size 7 shoe already!
Every time you see a gum ball machine you check it to make sure there is no candy/money in them.  You literally check every single machine!
You love to ride the car rides and the horses at the mall!
Double checking!
It is hard to believe that you are already 27 months old-we remember bring you home from the hospital like it was yesterday!
Your hair is almost long enough for a pony tail!
Still using some signs to communicate—you chose this sign for your name “Ainsley”.  You can sign “My name is Ainsley”—you are just very shy about it.  You normally only sign that for your daddy and me.
You are a jokester!  You love to laugh and make others laugh too!

Today we took you for a practice hearing test.  You have your next big hearing test at the hospital in February.  Today we had you practice in the testing booth at Grantwood.  You did great for the first time using the headphones.  The audiologist would ask you to point to the blue puppies eyes, ears, nose, etc.
You were more interested in watching the audiologist through the booth window as opposed to the blue puppy.  You don't miss a beat!
You love trains!  While we waited for your speech and hearing teachers you got to play!
You love to play with your daddy!  One of your favorite activities is for daddy to spin you—you keep saying “more, more” and you both keep spinning until you are almost falling over!
You and daddy were pretending that the train was going to run over your fingers.  You were so tickled by this!
Your hearing teacher brought a fun activity for your lesson today—SNOW!  You played in the snow for about 45 minutes today.  It was a great lesson, because you were so chatty!
Anytime we pray before dinner or at bedtime you put your sweet hands together and say "Jesus" and "amen".  When we left church this Sunday we were in the parking lot and you waved and said "bye bye Jesus" really loud--I'm confident he heard you sweet girl.
You were trying to stop the train with your nose here!  You are a pure joy to us baby girl!  You have made our lives complete!  We are looking forward to 2013 with you!  Can't wait to see what awaits our family this year!
